A piano with a history

Lessons take place on a recently tuned John Broadwood & Sons boudoir grand piano, dating from around 1915.

More than 110 years old, the piano retains its historic royal crest beneath the lid and remains a working instrument that continues to be played and enjoyed today.

Its traditional wooden construction gives it a warm, soft and mellow tone, with a character distinct from that of many modern pianos.

This gives pupils the unusual opportunity to learn on a genuinely historic grand piano: an instrument with its own atmosphere, personality and more than a century of musical history.
